dwfMedia are proud to introduce you to the talented artist Holly Fletcher also known as ‘Lapsley’

She’s the new kid on the block, based in Liverpool. Lapsley is a young lady (18 years old) who knows her stuff, she produces / writes all her music.

Under the electronic genre (with a hint of indie pop, we say ) she started writing her own music at the age of twelve. Later she moved on to playing electronic music and was in a band for few years but it never worked out.

In 2013 she decided to start producing the music she loved and begin a new musical journey. She created her sounds in a unique way, exactly the way she wanted. For example the spellbinding track ‘Station’ she uses her own vocals as harmonies, pitching them down to cleverly create the sound of a male voice and it works, really really well.

She simply uploaded her tracks to ‘Soundcloud’ for her friends abroad to listen to and the rest is history. This is a very similar story to the well known band ‘LONDON GRAMMAR’.

Already she’s performed at Glastonbury festival, recently performed three songs at the ‘Maida Vale’ studios for BBC Introducing with her tracks ‘Station’ (our favorite) ‘Falling Short’ and a stunning cover of Daniel Bedingfield ‘Gotta Get Through This‘ super Lapsley style.

Over the course of 2014, fast-emerging singer, songwriter and producer Låpsley has become one of the most hotly-tipped new UK artists. Through beautifully crafted songs such as Station’ and Painter (Valentine)’. The eighteen year old has created a unique sonic identity, with gorgeous and emotive songwriting.

Following a recent deal with XL Recordings and a nomination for the BBC’s Sound Of 2015. Låpsley has just premiered the stunning (Noel Paul-directed) video to her new single ‘Falling Short’ it’s the lead track from her debut Understudy EP, which will be released 5th January 2015. Available on 12” and download, the EP features three further brand new tracks: Brownlow, 8896 and Dancing.
